Flowers do not force their way with great strife. Flowers open to perfection slowly in the Sun. White Eagle
The ancient Mayan culture taught me a great deal about balance, process, connection and transitions. And how important it is to live as a part of the natural world, tempering our lives according to each season, rather see ourselves as separate entities.
We may have individual bodies, but we all carry ‘a little piece of the Sun’ within our hearts as our Mayan day keeper teacher taught us..And these internal small pieces of the Sun warm to our Solar Sun as we move through the seasons, and are inspired by them.
It is in the letting go of past seasons, even traumas, that we are able to move forward, and be moved emotionally by the miracle of the natural world, to transform.our experiences for the benefit of mankind.
Just as flowers unfold petal by petal warmed by the Sun, we, too, unfold throughout the seasons of our own lives.
Watching sacred phenomena unfold, amid thousands of other people in the Yucatan, gave me not just a greater sense of process, but also unity consciousness as people's from all four corners of the globe came together to witness and marvel at Mayan expertise.
I feel very privileged to celebrate Spring Equinox in the Yucatan at Chichen Itza, Dziblechaltun and Uxmal, but to have also visited ruined sites deep in the jungle, where the Sun still pinnacled above the last vestiges of once proud buildings, which simply took my breath away.
A deeper connection to life's rich tapestry.
Not only did I gain a deeper understanding of process, but saw the rainbow bridge as a part of that process. The rainbow bridge, in Spiritualism, is the point of transition between this world and ‘ the higher life’ when we pass over.
Spiritualism, of course, celebrates life after death, but I began to think about how intertwined life and death actually are. To embrace life in all its rich diversity we need to embrace death, in other words surrender fully to each moment to live passionately moment by moment. Day by Day.
Life and death are opposite ends of the same coin, rather than distinct and separate entities.
Change is written into our DNA. In order to embrace the riches inherent in each season of our lives, we need to let go of the past, welcoming each season as we transition not just from one season into the next, but day by day too.
Heart of the Oak
When I got back to England, I was inspired to find my way to a sacred forest glade close to where we live. I had a three day window either side of Summer Solstice (21st. June).
With hubby standing watch on a footpath, I made my way into the forest glade, and sat down under the Oak that seemed to be calling me. The peaty forest floor was soft and welcoming as I wedged myself between two giant roots, back pressed against its bark…and waited wondering what on earth I was doing there. I had no idea!
It didn't take long before the wind took up, rattling all leaves in the Grove of trees surrounding me.
I then felt, to my amazement, as if an antler-like coronet had been placed on my head.
In the next breath a Stag moved into the Grove to sit down by my side!!!
A moment of deep connection with Stag and the natural world. Magic. A treasured memory.
I don't want to analyse or objectify my experience. Just to say I later learned Stag as a totem animal represents deep connection with to the Natural World as well as clairvoyant vision. I'm deeply honoured once again to have had that experience.
I do believe Mother Nature was showing me just how important it is to approach each day without any expectation, to surrender to each moment, and in that letting go unimagined doorways open that truly light up your life.
Change is wired into our DNA. We see change minute to minute hour by hour throughout each day and into night. Each ebb curves naturally into flow, whilst flow curves gently back towards ebb, as we move around the Sun. Transition is a natural part of our life cycle, from the moment of our arrival on this planet to the moment we leave…and beyond!

It's good to leave each day behind,
like flowing water,
free of sadness.
Yesterday is gone and it's tale told.
Today new seeds are growing...
