I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's cloud's illusions, I recall
I really don't know clouds at all
Joni Mitchell
Clouds paint pictures
wherever they choose to dance
Whimsical cotton wool clouds
teased into wild high flying stories
not just in the sky but on land, too!
Shadows gliding across bright summer
landscapes adding mystery and texture,
both sides of life's tapestry
given voice.

A snap shot moment, taken three years ago in the French Swiss Alps. A reminder to take a step back, and watch the magic happen quite naturally.
(The photo below, is the same spot after the clouds started to shift. )
Sometimes we become so immersed in someone else's story, we lose ourselves, and our own unique connection to life's magic.
As children we inherit default settings, that have very little to do with the beautiful Souls we are, and everything to do with family traditions, as well as cultural overlay and circumstance.
My go to default setting was to be ‘a good little girl’ for my widowed mum. I felt, as a four year old, hugely responsible for her well being. Life was heavy duty. I lived my life soaked in other people unexpressed emotions, trying to be good rather than authentic. This meant of course, permanent storm clouds suffocated the promise inherent in each dawning day.
I became expert in unravelling stories that were never mine to unravel.
I'm about to turn another chapter inmy life's journey. (Another turn on the Ferris Wheel of life.)It's our 50th wedding anniversary very shortly. I'm organising a tea party and learning to let go rather than shrivel under the welter of all that responsibility again: ivd learned the Universe really does have my back!
I'd just like to leave you with these words again from Joni Mitchell again.
Maybe, just maybe, we don't need to know ‘clouds’ intimately, maybe we just need to trust, step back and observe them unravel the knots rather than get stuck in their story! Rather like that day I spent observing clouds unravel in Switzerland
Maybe we all need to let go and create dizzy dancing space for our fairy tales to take root!
Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way you feel
When every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way

Big thankyou for your comment Angie. The day in question was a revelation, but it generally takes me a while to pull all the various threads together, without getting in my own way. Enjoy the rest of Bank Holiday weekend
maybe we do ...your snippets are always thought-provoking :-)
